Newark, Vermont is a genuine New England town nestled in the Northeast Kingdom. It is a 30 minute drive from St. Johnsbury, and 40 minutes from the Canadian border. Newark is home to about 581 residents, as well as many seasonal residents.  Newark is also home to several bodies of water, the most popular and largest being Newark Pond.

The Newark Fire Department was started in 1982 by local volunteers. We are still powered by local volunteers! If you are interested in joining the Newark Fire Department, see the Recruitment page.

The department is also an EMS first responder squad, responding to medical emergencies in the town of Newark.  They assist the local ambulance, Lyndon Rescue Inc., coming from Island Pond or Lyndonville, depending on where you are in the town of Newark.
