Newark VFD operates from a single station at 1558 Newark Street in Newark. We are co-located with the Town of Newark Highway Department and share their garage. We utilize two bays of the five bay garage that also has a small kitchen, meeting area, and office for the Fire Department.

The current garage does not meet the needs of either the Fire Department or the Highway Department. Currently we house three vehicles in two truck bays. To take Rescue 55 out of the station requires first pulling out either Tanker 51 or Engine 52 out of their bay. The bays also limit our apparatus length to 25 feet which is not sufficient for modern fire apparatus.

In 2019 the Town of Newark formed a committee and hired a consultant to aid the town in planning for and securing financing to renovate the existing building or build a new facility. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic as of April 2021 this process has been halted. If you would like to assist with this process please contact the Newark Town Clerk's Office at 802-467-3336. If you would like to donate towards the Fire Department's share of this project please visit our donation page.
